FAQs

Not sure if your background counts as travel experience? It might. Here are a few things to know before exploring an opportunity with Omni.

Omni offers independent contractor opportunities. As an independent contractor, you can choose when you provide services within the hours available for your selected contract and are responsible for your own taxes and business expenses.

Absolutely. Relevant experience can come from many parts of the travel industry. If you’ve worked for an airline, hotel, cruise line, travel agency, rental car company, tour operator, booking service, or another travel-related business, your experience may be valuable for an Omni contract.

It depends on the contract. Experience in customer service, reservations, bookings, sales, itinerary changes, loyalty programs, cancellations, or other travel-related work may all be relevant.

Not necessarily. Some travel contracts may require experience with Sabre, a Global Distribution System (GDS), or specific reservation tools, while others may not. Always review the requirements of the individual contract before getting started.

Responsibilities vary by client and contract. You might help customers make or change reservations, navigate travel disruptions, answer questions, provide booking support, or solve problems before, during, or after a trip.

May be a perfect if you:

  • Have experience working for a travel-related company
  • Enjoy helping customers solve problems
  • Understand how important great service is when travel plans change
  • Want the flexibility of working remotely
  • Are comfortable working independently

But may not be the best fit if you:

  • Are looking for a traditional W-2 employee position
  • Prefer working face-to-face with customers
  • Aren’t comfortable navigating multiple systems and tools
  • Prefer a fixed schedule set by your employer
  • Don’t enjoy helping customers through unexpected changes
